I received a graduate degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine, where I studied and was trained in acupuncture and other therapeutic modalities, herbal medicine, nutrition, therapeutic massage, structural diagnosis, orthopedic testing, biomedicine, western medical diagnosis, and pharmacology.
I am licensed to practice acupuncture in Oregon by the Oregon Medical Board (Lic #161400) and nationally certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). For the last eight years I provided one-on-one and community acupuncture treatments to the Montavilla community and residents of surrounding SE Portland neighborhoods.
Mission/Focus of Practice
My mission as a health care practitioner is to help patients implement life changes so that they can experience health and vitality and speed the healing process through Chinese medicine and related therapies. The Chinese medical system is appropriate for many health conditions, and I am enthusiastic about introducing it to new patients who who are interested in exploring a different healing path.
My Vision for a Healthier World
I spent the first 35 years of my life immersed in the outdoors and diverse cultural life of the San Francisco Bay Area and continue to express myself through movement, recreation and creativity in many different forms: biking, skiing, yoga, swimming, dancing, drumming, hiking, playing golf. When our bodies are in motion and we are focused on the moment, our minds are free. This is what I hope for my patients: connecting with and enjoying strong, healthy bodies and being at peace with whatever stage of life they are in.
